Chicken Shawarma

Stuck in a chicken rut? Try out this exciting, different recipe!

This is great for your Whole30 meal prep.

You need:

  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

  • ¼  tsp cayenne


Step by step:

  1. Mix together all ingredients except for chicken thighs to make a paste. Rub over chicken thighs and let sit for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Preheat oven to 350. Heat a large pan on medium high. Spray with cooking spray.

  3. Sear chicken thighs on both sides, about 3 min each side. You may need to do this in stages, so you don’t overcrowd the pan. Once seared,  transfer to a baking pan.

  4. Bake chicken thighs until they have reached 160 degrees inside, about 20 minutes.
